ASHFORD COMMUNITY CHURCH

NEWSLETTER: 28th October 2018

        FROM THE PASTOR’S PEN

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ

Our “Vision 2018” declares that we must let the local community know: that we are here, what we believe, and how we want to support them. We committed to doing a “needs audit” (or “survey”) to canvas their views on what a “community church” could best offer. As we progress this, let us remember the words of Jesus – directed to us – before He returned to Heaven:

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16: 15-16)

So, last week, at our “Revival Prayer” meeting, we began to distribute our “welcome letter” with a survey attached, to the local community. This Friday we began to go from door-to-door to collect up these surveys and to put a “face” to the welcome letters that we posted.

Please pray for this good work. Please join with us in distributing the leaflets and in then collecting them up by going from house to house. You might not be able to join with us on a Friday, but you may be able to post some leaflets and collect them up on another day, at another time. We want everyone to feel that they are a part of this “witness”. So, if you would like to take part then please just let me or one of the elders know and you too can be part of fulfilling this next stage of the vision of ACC.

God bless.   Peter

TODAY: “FROM THE ELDERS HEART”

Steve Lynes will be speaking to us about the things the Lord has laid on his heart.

CHRISTMAS SHOE BOX APPEAL: The children will be packing shoeboxes this morning. Please give any items you have bought to Linda or Diana at the start of the service today please.

NEXT SUNDAY: FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT – KINDNESS

Continuing our series and this week will also be an all age service.

CHURCH WEBSITE, APP & CALENDAR: Many of you are now using the church website, app and calendar and we hope you are finding them useful. Things are still progressing, and you will probably see various changes and new things over the next weeks and months. Please don’t forget, if you have any prayer requests please put them on the app, they will then be approved and sent out to everyone so that we can all respond quickly and knowledgably to them.

However, there are still a good number who have not signed up for the app or the members area on the website so please give it a try. See Gill for your user name and password.

COMMUNITY SURVEY: We have begun our community survey. If you are able to help on Friday mornings please come along to our revival prayer meeting. If this is not possible please let us know if you can help at another time.
