ASHFORD COMMUNITY CHURCH

NEWSLETTER: 30th SEPTEMBER 2018

        FROM THE PASTOR’S PEN

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ

In this issue I would like to continue my focus on the great calling that we all have to love each other – as family – and to love the people around us who so need to know the “love” and the “joy” that we have in the Spirit:

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 … If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ (1 Peter 4:10-11)

The Harvest Festival next Sunday is an excellent way in which we can do this. By inviting our family and friends we will be showing them the love of Christ – and His wonderful provision to us – in our service of thanksgiving. In the meal that we share afterwards we will be showing each other the family love that we all need so much. In our bringing of produce to be distributed to Open Arms and FoodBank we are showing our care to the needy who live amongst and around us. So, sign up today to book your place – and those of your loved ones – at the Harvest Meal next Sunday.

And, what greater privilege do we have than to pray for one another when we are sick or in need. So, please remember to download the Church App onto your phone or tablet – and to see Gill for your login details. Then, be encouraged to share your prayer needs using the App – which will then generate an email to our church family so that we can all be praying for you. It’s what family is all about.

God bless       Peter

TODAY: For the first time we welcome Pastor Temi Omolade who will share with us the things the Lord has laid on his heart.

NEXT SUNDAY: HARVEST FESTIVAL

Please invite friends and family to join us next week for our Harvest service followed by a Family Harvest Meal. For catering purposes please make sure you sign up on the list on the Prayer table today. Also please bring along your tinned, dried and fresh foods which will then be donated to Open Arms and the Food Bank.

CHURCH WEBSITE & APP: Thanks to those who have already signed up for the church app. We hope you are finding it helpful. There are still a good number of you who haven’t yet downloaded it so please consider doing so a.s.a.p. See Gill who will arrange for your user name and password to be created.
