ASHFORD COMMUNITY CHURCH
NEWSLETTER: 6th Jan 2019
FROM THE PASTOR’S PEN
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Let us choose this day to enter the new year with purpose, and excitement, and anticipation. Let this be the best year ever from a spiritual point of view. Whatever comes to pass in 2019 let us have the satisfaction of knowing that we have:
run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith (Hebrews 12 v. 1-2)
It is with great pleasure that today, we, the elders of Ashford Community Church, share with you our vision for the church for 2019 – in the sure and certain hope that it will become your vision as well.
Over the next two Sundays we hope to involve us all – as the spiritual family that we are – in going forward with God. So, listen well, meditate on what we share with you, and be a part of the glorious future that God has planned for us in 2019.
Remember the words of Minnie Haskins written in 1908:
“I said to the man who stood at the Gate of the Year,
‘Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.’
And he replied, ‘Go out into the darkness, and put your hand into the Hand of God.
That shall be to you better than light, and safer than a known way.’”
And may God bless us all in 2019 Peter
TODAY: OUR VISION FOR 2019 Part 1
Be a part of it!
NEXT SUNDAY: OUR VISION FOR 2019 Part 2
Be a part of it!
CHRISTMAS CARD DONATIONS: As Peter explained last week, if you would now like to make a donation to charity please would you put it in an envelope, clearly marked ‘Christmas Charity’, and place it in the offering bag over the next couple of weeks. A decision will then be made regarding which charity, or charities, to benefit from your generosity. Thank you.
CHURCH WEBSITE, APP & CALENDAR: Please remember that anyone with access to the church App can submit prayer requests at any time. These will then be approved through the website and circulated to everyone who has agreed to receive information via email. If you have not yet completed a GDPR form, giving the church authority to use your personal information, please speak to Alasdair. Also if you haven’t done so already, and would like to, please speak to or contact Gill who can get you set up on the App – gill@adsett.com.
AUDIO SERMONS AND NOTES: Wherever possible all audio recordings and sermon notes can now be found on the church website. These are viewable in the ‘Sermons’ tab shown at the top of the page. All audio recordings are also available on the App.
FOODBANK: Please remember the Food Bank when you go shopping. Items particularly needed now are teabags, coffee (200g jars), tinned meat (eg spam, corned beef, chicken curry etc.), sugar (small size bags), tinned fruit, jam & marmalade.
MEDICAL MISSIONARY NEWS: Please remember to save your used postage stamps, thousands of pounds are raised each year from used stamps and the Christmas ones are particularly helpful.
