ASHFORD COMMUNITY CHURCH

       FROM THE PASTOR’S PEN

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ

I thank God for His Word, the Bible. I believe in every part of it. I believe that God gave it to us to guide us and to teach us about Himself. I believe that every bit of it is profitable for doctrine. I believe that it is the Truth. I believe it is the “belt” that holds every part of the “armour of God” together and that we need the Truth of the Word in order to stand and be victorious in the spiritual battles of life.

I believe that there is an important message to be learnt from the very last verse of the Book of Judges which states:

In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes. (Judges 21: 25 KJV)

When God is no longer the “King” of our lives then we will be governed by our own beliefs – beliefs that are no longer based on the Truth of the Word but on our own feelings or on the clever arguments of others. I have no doubt that our enemy, the devil, longs for us to believe in whatever feels good to us at the time. That way we will question God’s Word; that way we will do whatever seems right to us.

I believe that God loves us so much that He has given us His Spirit and His Word so that we will know the Truth. Knowing the Truth shall keep us safe in the spiritual battles of this life.

Let us ensure that we know the Truth well! Let us read, study and meditate on the Word of God constantly. And how does this relate to ACC as “family” – our church vision? In “Welcome” we see that family cares for each other. How better to care for each other than to ensure that we are all safe spiritually. So, let us encourage each other to know the Truth well!
And may God continue to bless us all.
